The problem

Carbon Group is a national professional services firm with offices across Australia, providing accounting, finance, and business advisory services.

Caznet's relationship began with Symes Accountants in Gawler, South Australia. At the time, Symes was operating on ageing on-premise infrastructure and a low-speed, unreliable wireless internet connection, limiting performance and scalability.

As the business grew and became more reliant on cloud-based applications, a full refresh of infrastructure, connectivity, and communications was required.

What we did

Caznet worked with Symes Accountants and their managed services provider to deliver a complete IT and connectivity transformation. This included:

• Dedicated high-speed fibre connectivity to the data centre
• Business-grade internet services
• A hosted business phone system
• Migration of all server infrastructure into a private cloud environment

All systems, files, and applications were migrated from on-premise servers into the data centre with no downtime, removing the need for local infrastructure and improving performance across the business.

Following the acquisition of Symes Accountants by Carbon Group, Caznet continued to support the business as it expanded. Services were extended beyond the original Gawler site to include internet connectivity across multiple Carbon Group offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Brisbane, providing a consistent and scalable network platform for a growing national organisation.

Symes Accountants transitioned from an ageing, on-premise environment to a modern, cloud-based platform with high-speed fibre connectivity and reliable communications.

Following integration into Carbon Group, this foundation enabled seamless expansion into a multi-site, multi-state environment without disruption.

Carbon Group now benefits from consistent, business-grade connectivity across key office locations, supporting ongoing growth and ensuring reliable access to cloud-based systems and applications.
